Water Main Break On West Squantum Street In Quincy

QUINCY, MA —Quincy police are warning it will be slow going around the area of West Squantum Street through the evening commute after a water main break Monday afternoon. The water main break is in the area of Fayette Street.

Quincy police said to expect road closures and lane restrictions in the area throughout the evening while repairs are ongoing. Police ask drivers to avoid the area, and seek an alternate route, if possible.

City officials said West Squantum Street remained closed as of 4:30 p.m. and detours were expected to extend beyond midnight. Drivers will not be able to exit Newport Avenue southbound at the West Squantum Bridge Monday night.
