Bunratty Tavern Offshoot Opens In Reading

The Charles, a 40s-50s-style restaurant from the same owner, opened in the former D'Amici's space next door to Bunratty's.

READING, MA — The owner of Bunratty's Tavern opened a new restaurant Sunday in the former D'Amici's Bakery space next door. The Charles is designed in the vein of "classic American/Hollywood from around the 40s-50s," Boston Restaurant Talk reported, and features steak, seafood, pasta and cocktails.

D'Amici's abruptly closed its bakeries in Reading, Melrose and Lynn last year. Initially, Bunratty's was going to use the space as a function room and additional space for its dining and cocktail section, but it has since become its own concept.

The Charles will be open for dinner Wednesday through Sunday. It will be closed this Thursday and Friday for the holiday.
