Charlestown Man Charged With Reading Robberies
Michael J. Leonard charged with two armed robberies in December.

READING — A Boston man has been charged in connection with two armed robberies that occurred in December.
After an investigation by Reading Police Detectives, Michael J. Leonard, 34, of Charlestown, turned himself in to Woburn District Court on Monday after Reading Police obtained a warrant for his arrest.
Leonard is charged with: masked armed robbery (two Counts) and assault with a dangerous weapon (two Counts). His arraignment results in Woburn District Court on Monday were not immediately available.
The charges stem from the Dec. 27, 2016 armed robbery of the P&S Convenience Store on Lowell Street and the Dec. 29, 2016 armed robbery of JK's market on Main Street.

"This is a example of fine detective work in tracking down leads and ultimately arresting a suspect who attempted to hide his identity during his crimes,"said Chief Mark Segalla.
