DA: Reading Man Fatally Beaten By A Brick After A Bar Fight In Lynn
Two Lynn brothers held without bail charged with murder of Reading man.

LYNN, MA -- A bar fight at a Lynn nightclub last Sunday triggered an attack by two Lynn brothers, who allegedly ambushed Sergio Sanchez, of Reading, and his brother outside the club and beat Sanchez to death with a brick, prosecutors said.
In Lynn District Court on Friday, Judge Cathleen Campbell ordered brothers Werner Garcia Figueroa, 19, and Selvin F. Garcia, 29, both of Lynn, held without bail after pleading not guilty to charges of murder, armed robbery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
Prosecutor Ashlee Logan explained that Figueroa and Garcia had been at the Vegas nightclub in Lynn at the same time as Sanchez, 39, of Reading and his 33-year-brother, when a fight broke out.

Figueroa and Garcia allegedly left the club and then waited a short distance away to allegedly attack Sanchez and his brother near 22 Blake St.. Sanchez was hit in the head with a brick and fell to the ground. His brother used his cell phone to call 911 as the defendants ran away.
But prosecutors say the Figueroa and Garcia returned to the scene and stole the cell phone.

Sanchez died from his injuries the following day. His brother was treated at a nearby hospital.
The victims did not appear to know their attackers.
Figueroa and Garcia are scheduled to return to court on June 27 for a probable-cause hearing.
