Patriots' Day In Reading: Trash, Recycling Delayed

READING, MA — Patriots' Day is Monday, April 19 in Massachusetts. The Bay State-specific holiday marks the Battles of Lexington and Concord and the start of the Revolutionary War.

In a typical year, Patriots' Day would also coincide with Marathon Monday. That's been tentatively rescheduled to Oct. 11 after being canceled last year due to the ongoing pandemic.

The holiday will delay rubbish and recycling collection by one day. If your normal collection day is Friday, next week's rubbish and recycling will be picked up on Saturday.
