Reading Police Tell Drivers Click It or Ticket
The safety campaign runs through May 23.

The Reading Police are looking to help save lives on Massachusetts’s roads and highways by participating in this month’s Click It or Ticket campaign. The Reading Police, along with the Massachusetts State Police, the Highway Safety Division of the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security, and 200 other Massachusetts Police Departments will all participate in the national Click It or Ticket campaign which began on May 9 and runs through May 23.
The program hopes more drivers will use their seatbelts by increasing the overall police presence and visibility on roads across the state during this period.
“Our goal is to save lives,” said Sgt. John T. McKenna. “As we kick off the busy summer driving season, it’s crucial that all motorists buckle up every time they go out, day and night – no excuses. Our officers are prepared to ticket anyone who is not wearing their seatbelt, including drivers who have neglected to properly buckle their children.”
