This notice was sent Thursday to Parents/Guardians of Reading Public Schools students:

Waltham Services, the pest management contractor for the Town of Reading, will be spraying for wasps around the exterior of the Coolidge Middle School. The spraying will be done on Saturday July 20, 2019, to minimize the impact on school and recreation programs. No spraying of pesticides will be done in the interior of these schools.

The Children and Families Protection Act requires that schools send Standard Written Notification home to parents and employees at least two working days before an outdoor pesticide application is to take place. The full notification includes the following three parts:

Consumer Information Bulletin
Department Notification Form
Chemical Fact Sheet

The policy of the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources permits schools the option of providing Standard Written Notification to parents via electronic means. Interested parties may view copies of this Standard Written Notification at the following link:
https://www.reading.k12.ma.us/

The website has posted the three parts as outlined above. Should parents not have the capability to view the notification on the website; a hard copy will be made available by the Reading Public Schools upon request.
