Reading's Vinnie Fantasia Passes Away
Longtime town resident spent his life as a self-employed real estate developer.

An obituary from the family of Vincent Fantasia:
On Wednesday, July 24, Vincent C. Fantasia passed away peacefully at the age of 82.
Vincent, or “Vinnie” as he was known, was born on August 23, 1936 in Everett to Peter & Lucy (DiMassa) Fantasia. In 1956, Vinnie married Diana Rossi, and had two children, Laurie Fantasia-Breningmeyer-Donnelly (Gregg) (Larry), and Vincent Fantasia, Jr. He received a degree from DeVry University in Chicago in 1960. In 1964, he married Frances Zabinski and had four more children. Vincent and Frances were longtime residents of Reading, and many memorable summers were spent at their lakefront home in Windham, NH.

Vinnie had a passion for real estate, and spent his life as a self-employed real estate developer. He designed and built many commercial and residential buildings, homes and complexes all around Boston’s north shore area. Vinnie’s youngest son, Peter V. Fantasia, followed in his father’s footsteps into construction management and development. Vinnie also had a love of horse racing, and was a longtime race horse owner, and was a frequent fixture at Suffolk Downs and Rockingham Park. Vinnie loved all Boston sports, especially football, and never missed a game. He was a longtime Patriots season ticket holder. Vinnie was known for his quick wit, sharp business acumen, infectious smile, and his swagger.
Vinnie was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Lucy, his sister, Phyllis Nelson, and his oldest son, Vincent, Jr. He is survived by his two ex-wives, as well as his five children, six grandchildren, and a great-grandson.
