The National Weather Service reported temperatures reached 91 degrees at Logan Airport at 11:36 a.m.
Tuesday is the 12th day of 90-plus degree temperatures in Boston this summer, meaning we are still well short of tying the 1983 record of 30 straight days.

Temperatures would have to keep tipping 90 both Thursday and Friday to match Boston's longest heatwave — a nine-day July stretch more than 100 years ago.
Temperatures statewide Tuesday will flirt with 90 degrees, hitting the low-to-mid 90s in some parts, and we'll likely see Day 7 of the heatwave Wednesday, though the humidity on both days won't be as oppressive as Monday. The heatwave might not break until a still-hot Thursday. Temperatures could finally give a bit Friday with some scattered thunderstorms.
