4th Of July Fireworks 2021 Near Salem

SALEM, MA — Coronavirus cases continue to drop across the country while the number of those who are fully vaccinated continues to rise, which means there is even more reason to celebrate this Independence Day.

July 4 is almost here, so it's time to find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on near you.

When: July 4, 10:30 p.m.

All eyes will be on Boston for the return of fireworks there as most communities have canceled their displays, mostly due to a lack of planning time and an unwillingness to host so many people right now.

The fireworks are at Boston Common, not the Esplanade, and will follow the Boston Pops' 8 p.m. performance in Tanglewood, a music venue in Western Massachusetts.

Salem determined in April to postpone this year's fireworks at Derby Warf because of uncertainty at the time regarding coronavirus-related capacity limits.

The city said in April it hopes to instead have a fireworks display during Heritage Days in August.
