Amazon Opens Salem Delivery Station On Colonial Road
An Amazon spokeswoman said the 148,000 square-foot facility will support 175 full-time and part-time jobs.

SALEM, MA —Amazon's expansion in Massachusetts includes the recent opening of the 148,000 square-foot Salem delivery station on Colonial Road.
Amazon spokeswoman Emily Hawkins said in a statement to Patch that the facility will support 175 full-time and part-time jobs, as well as additional opportunities for Amazon's delivery service partners and Amazon Flex drivers.
The Salem facility is one of 11 recently opened or in the planning for 2021 across the state.

"We are excited to continue to invest in the state of Massachusetts with new delivery stations that will provide efficient delivery for customers, and create thousands of job opportunities for the talented workforce," Hawkins said. "These new delivery stations represent Amazon's unwavering commitment to safety, technological innovations, and skilled teams who are obsessed with delivering for our customers."
Amazon recently signed leases for facilities in Littleton and Randolph, recently opened stations in East Taunton in Norwood, and is working to open stations in Haverhill, Hingham, Mansfield, Plymouth and Worcester.

Each of the facilities has the capacity to support electric vehicles. Hawkins said the company's plan is to have 10,000 electric vehicles on the road by next year.
To help commemorate the opening, Amazon also donated $2,000 in personal protection equipment to Salem Together for use by Salem first responders and front-line health care workers at North Shore Medical Center.
"I want to welcome Amazon Logistics to the Salem business community and am encouraged about the addition of hundreds of new jobs to our local economy," Salem Mayor Kim Driscoll said in a statement.
