A free display of antique fire apparatus will take place on Derby Wharf throughout the afternoon of Sunday, June 22, from noon to 4:00 p.m.
During the event the City will welcome the return of “Seaside 2,” an Amoskeag Steamer built in 1902 that was last in Salem in 1914 to fight the fire.
Other antique firefighting equipment from the Massachusetts Antique Fire Apparatus Association and other private collectors will also be on display, including an Okommakamesit hand pump fire engine originally built for Harrisburg, PA in 1861 and purchased by the Phoenix Veteran Firemen’s Association of Marblehead in 1895 to compete in area musters.
