Check it Out: Future 'Clam Shack' at The Salem Willows

I spotted some recent progress at the future home of the Clam Shack - a new eatery being constructed inside what was formerly a Salem Willows restroom/bathhouse.

It's been almost a year since the city's Park and Recreation Commission approved a five-year lease for Angelo Meimeteas, a local resident who, with his brother, George, owns and operates The Clam Shanty in Wells, Maine, The Salem News reported.

The terms of the lease, according to The Salem News article, require Meimeteas to pay "no rent for five years as long as he puts at least $30,000 into the building."
