Come On And Take A Free Ride On Salem Trolley This Summer

SALEM, MA — Salem residents will once again be able to take a trip around town at no charge this summer.

Residents can pick up a ticket to take the Salem Trolley from June 1 to Sept. 30. The program is available by providing proof of residency at the Salem Trolley Office at 8 Central Street.

This is the ninth year the city and Salem Trolley program have combined to provide residents the chance to ride for free. Over that time, the city said 11,541 rides have taken place.

"I want to thank the Salem Trolley for their generosity in once again working with us to subsidize this terrific program to make it possible for Salem residents to take advantage of a free trolley ride," Salem Mayor Kim Driscoll said. "They are a true asset to Salem and our business community."

The Trolley runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days per week with routes through Downtown Salem and Salem Willows, with stops including the Salem Visitors Center, Witch History Museum, Trolley Depot, Salem Witch House, Witch Trial Memorial, Pickering Wharf, the House of the Seven Gables, Salem Ferry, Winter Island with requested stops available at Hamilton Hall, Phillips House and Chestnut Street.

Passengers will be required to wear face masks or coverings while on the Trolley this summer. Admission is based on available seating.
