Coyote Expert to Speak at Salem State
The public can get some insight into the creatures lurking in their backyards on Feb. 28.

SALEM, MA – The coyotes that have stalked the outer edges of your backyard are also the subject of Dr. Jonathan Way's study. Way is set to come to Salem State University to describe his work investigating the behavior of coyotes and the public policy surrounding them.
The free event, on Tuesday, Feb. 28, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., is part of SSU's Wellness U Experiencing Wildlife series. Way has written two books on coyotes, one of which focuses on eastern coyotes in Massachusetts. He runs the Eastern Coyote/Coywolf Research Organization.
After coyotes attacked dogs in two separate incidents on the North Shore last month, authorities have cautioned residents to keep a watchful eye on pets, and remove sources of food for coyotes.
