Customer Sues After Getting Bounced From Salem Bar
Two bouncers at the Village Tavern have already been charged criminally for the November incident.
SALEM, MA — A man who claims bouncers put him in a choke hold and slammed his head into the East India Fountain in Salem has filed a lawsuit against the bar where the bouncers worked. Nikolas Gigante, 21, of Arlington, filed a lawsuit that names the bar, its owner, Alex Ingemi, and the bouncers, Lovell Thomspon, 28, of Salem, and Ricardo Aristede, 29, of Lynn, who have already been charged criminally in the case.
According to the Salem News, Thompson and Aristede were charged after police reviewed footage from a nearby security camera. The bar has already had its liquor license suspended after police determined it had over-served Gigante and Diego Atocha, Giagnte's friend who was also kicked out of the Village Tavern that night. Among the 16 complaints in the civil lawsuit filed April 18 is a claim that the bar owners tried to cover up the incident.
