Fundraiser Set Up For Salem High School Senior Battling Cancer

The event will be held this Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Salem High School.

A Salem Patch Facebook user reached out to us to help spread the word about a fundraiser for Ali, a Salem High School senior who is battling cancer:

During her senior year at Salem High School while most of her classmates are worried about which college they will attend and excited for all the fun senior activities coming up, Alexandra Asher, is undergoing chemotherapy for her battle with stage 3A Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Ali was diagnosed with cancer on December 9th after months of having a hard time breathing and lose of energy. Thankfully her mom was on top of it and kept bringing her back to the doctors when allergy test, sick test, etc came back normal. They caught this early and started chemo the following week. If you think going through chemo is a lot this courageous young lady is still going to classes and continuing to cheer as much as her body will let her so she can feel normal as possible. She is a true inspiration. I call this kicking cancer’s ass.

We all know the burden cancer can have on a family, not only emotionally but financially. Trips to the hospital, testing, parking, missing days off, and so on. Since unfortunately we can not take the pain of cancer away we can help take the financial pain away. That is why ISWM and friends are organizing a fun event to help ease Ali’s fight against cancer with a fun and uplifting family event that will be held at in the Field House at Salem High School on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at 12 pm. We will have music, raffles, selling baked goods, face painting and a bean bag tourney. The event is free to come too. If you would like to donate an item for the event please email me.
