Jefferson Ave Reopens After Water Break
Jefferson Avenue closed late Wednesday night while officials worked to repair a water main break.

SALEM, MA – Jefferson Avenue reopened around 3 p.m. Thursday after the water main break was repaired, according to Salem Police.
A robocall from the City of Salem said that the water main break may result in brown tap water in some homes, and advised residents to run the water until it runs clear. If the problem persists, call Salem DPW at 978-744-3302.
Salem Police posted around 6 a.m. that the road was closed at Ocean Avenue and Wilson Street for repairs, and urged the public to avoid the area whenever possible. Water service was affected for some users. The break appears to have occurred late Wednesday night in the area of Laurent Road.
