Congressman John Tierney's brother-in-law, Daniel Eremian, who was convicted in December 2011 of federal racketeering and illegal gambling charges, has been released from prison early, Politico.com is reporting.
Although Eremian was sentenced to a three-year federal prison term in June 2012, he served just under two years, the last six months of which were spent living in a halfway house and under home confinement, according to this Salem News article.
Tierney's wife, Patrice, was also sentenced to time in prison as a result of the federal investigation.Â
Tierney will face former Marine Seth Moulton in the Democratic primary and is expected to take on Republican Richard Tisei in November.Â
