Man Reported Giving Out Prescription at Pharmacy

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log:
Monday, April 14
- At 2:38 a.m. a trash barrel fire was reported on Willson Street. By the time emergency official arrived a staff member at the golf course had already put the fire out. The barrel had completely melted in the fire.
- At 1:52 p.m. an employee at CVS Pharmacy reported a man obtained a prescription and then was giving out the prescription to people in the store.
- At 1:25 p.m. a caller reported an accident involving a motor vehicle and a scooter on Swampscott Road near First Street. No injuries were reported. The vehicle had struck the scooter on the left side when the scooter was attempting to make a left turn from First Street onto Swampscott Road.
- At 2:26 p.m. a caller reported that his BMW was keyed overnight.
- At 4:15 p.m. an employee at WalMart reported shoplifters may have stolen a cell phone.
