North Shore Commuter Rail Fiasco: Trains More Than Hour Late

Commuter rail lines from the North Shore are running more than an hour late due to a disabled trains on the tracks in Salem.

Trains on the Newburyport/Rockport Line are facing severe delays in both directions, with the worst affecting the inbound trains, after a train stopped near Salem Station. At least one train has been canceled, while several others are between 45-90 minutes late, according to the MBTA.

The MBTA is working on the issue but there is no estimated time of service restoration.
