Edward J. Garland, 65, of Peabody, died on Thursday, July 9, at the NSMC- Salem Hospital with his family at his side. He was the beloved companion of Donna (Gagne) Sheehan.
He was born in Salem, MA on September 4, 1949, the son of the late James R. and Mary (Herlehy) Garland and was raised and educated there before moving to Peabody.

He had been employed in the maintenance division at the Olde Salem Greens golf course in Salem for many years.
He is survived by his companion, Donna Sheehan of Peabody, a daughter, Kelly Green and her husband Herbert of Johnstown, NY, a brother James Garland of Greenfield, MA, a sister and brother-in-law, Katie and George Blackwell of Salem, two grandchildren, and Donna Sheehan’s family, Mona Monaco of Lynn, MA, William Sheehan of Nashua, NH and Rhonda Baker of Williamsburg, VA, two grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the husband of the late Anita Giguere Garland and the brother of the late Mary Anne Garland.

In accordance with his wishes no services are planned. Assisting with the arrangements was the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home of Peabody. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Cancer Society, 20 Speen St.,Framingham, MA 01960 in his memory.
