OBITUARY: Sean E. Purdy, 37, Former Salem School Employee

"He was a loving son, brother, grandson and uncle who will be missed. "

PEABODY- Mr. Sean E. Purdy 37, of Quincy, formerly of Peabody died unexpectedly Monday, Nov. 7th, 2016 at his home.

Born in Salem, he was the son of John E. Purdy of Danvers and the late Donna Marie (McInnis) Purdy. He was raised and educated in Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1997. He continued his education at North Shore Community College.

For many years Mr. Purdy had been employed as a Chef at the former Hilltop Steak House in Saugus. Sean had also been employed with the City of Salem School System for 12 years in Custodial Services. More recently he had been a cook at Salvatore's in East Boston.

An athlete and avid sports fan, Sean was a member of the Varsity Football and Lacrosse teams at Peabody High School. He excelled on the gridiron and was the goalie for the varsity lacrosse team. He enjoyed cheering on his favorite New England Patriots and the Boston, Red Sox, Celtics and Bruins. He was a loving son, brother, grandson and uncle who will be missed.

Sean is survived by his loving father, John E. Purdy of Danvers, his sister, Alisha Bartlett and her husband Jeff of Danvers, his nephews Blake and Patrick Bartlett, his grandmother, Patricia N. (Morrissey) McInnis of Beverly, his aunts and uncles, Charlene and Paul Tremblay of Beverly, Noreen E. McInnis of Peabody, Chuck Walsh of Salem, Donna and Jean Julien of Beverly, Debra and Steve Zielski of Peabody and Lisa and Chris Pompei of Cape Coral, FL and many cousins and extended family. He was predeceased by his beloved mother, Donna Marie (McInnis) Purdy, his maternal grandfather, J. Donald McInnis, his paternal grandparents, Gloria (Caron) and M. John Purdy of Beverly and his aunt, Patricia Anne Walsh.

ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral service will be held in the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home 167 Maple St., (rte 62) Danvers, Tuesday, Nov. 15th at 10 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial is private. Visiting hours Monday, Nov. 14th from 4 to 7 P.M. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Sean's memory to the charity of one's choice.
