Peabody, Salem Locations To Provide Free Thanksgiving Meals

Thanksgiving meals will be to-go meals or delivered this year because of the coronavirus health crisis.

SALEM, MA — Locations in Peabody and Salem will provide free Thanksgiving meals to North Shore residents in need on Nov. 26 — although there will be significant changes this year due to the coronavirus health crisis.

While some places are unable to provide meals this year due to the pandemic, others will substitute in-person meals with takeout or delivered meals.

Haven from Hunger in Peabody will provide to-go meals between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Haven from Hunger can be reached at 978-531-1530.

The Friends of Salem Council on Aging will be delivering meals to Salem seniors. To sign up for a meal contact Rosanna Donahue at 978-744-0924 by Nov. 20. The Council on Aging is working with Brother's Taverna to provide the dinners.

Lifebridge in Salem will not be providing meals to the public this year, but will serve its residents.

The Derby Restaurant will not be able to provide meals this year due to the coronavirus but hopes to resume the tradition next year.

Gina's Thanksgivers will provide Thanksgiving food for people to cook on their own. Those interested can contact ginarn75@icloud with a name, address, phone number and number of people in the household by Nov. 20. Single "heat-and-eat" meals are also available.

Meals are also available in Gloucester and Lynn.
