Salem Police Searching for Cross-Dressing Bank Robber

Salem police are searching the area for a man who reportedly robbed Beverly Cooperative Bank in Salem while dressed as a woman Friday afternoon.

At approximately 3:30 p.m., local police responded to the bank, located at 73 Lafayette St., after receiving word that a man dressed as a woman had made off with an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspected is described as a white male dressed as a woman who was wearing sunglasses and a red shirt.
