Salem Crews Respond To Another Water Main Break On Horton Street
The second water main break on the street in a week is the third in the city in the past 10 days.

SALEM, MA — Mere hours after cleaning up downed trees and helping restore damaged power lines from Tuesday's storm, Salem Department of Public Works crews were back at it working on a water main break on Horton Street Wednesday morning.
It was the second water main break in a week on Horton Street. Work was expected to last into the afternoon.
"You may experience low water pressure, interruption of service or brown water until the leak is repaired," Salem DPW said.

A water main on the street also had to be fixed on Friday, as well as one on Loring Hills Avenue near the Swampscott line on June 29.
The break has made for a busy 24 hours for DPW crews that worked well into the night assisting with damage from a fierce storm that ripped through Salem and Swampscott, causing more than 5,000 power outages in the two communities around 7 p.m.

While most Swampscott homes were brought back online within 90 minutes or so, Salem took longer as hundreds of residents were without power into the early hours of the morning.
