Salem Educator A MA Teacher Of The Year Semifinalist
Salem Witchcraft Heights teacher Marta Garcia is among 12 semifinalists for the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education honor.
SALEM, MA — A Salem educator is a semifinalist for the state Department of Elementary and Secondary Education's 2022 Teacher of the Year award.
Salem Witchcraft Heights Elementary School teacher Marta Garcia was one of 12 semifinals chosen, along with teachers from Falmouth, Boston, Pittsfield, Newton, Amherst, Cambridge, Arlington and Greenfield.
Garcia is an English as a Second Language teacher at Witchcraft.

"We have amazing teachers in our schools and we are so excited that Ms. Garcia is being recognized as one of the best in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts," Salem Superintendent of Schools Steve Zrike said.
