Salem Fire Department battled two house fires late Friday night.
Heavy fire was shown coming from the basement of a Larchmont Road residence when firefighters arrived just before 11 p.m. on Friday. A second alarm was  struck.
That fire was reportedly knocked down at approximately 11:45 p.m.

There were no injuries associated with the fire.
Just after 11 p.m. a second fire was reported at 53 Warren Avenue. Mutual aid was called in.
