Salem To Issue Temporary Residential Parking Permits

While Halloween-related parking restrictions are lessened this year, resident-only stickers will be issued for several downtown streets.

SALEM, MA — While parking restrictions are lessened this Halloween season in Salem amid the coronavirus health crisis, there will be temporary, resident-only permits issued to residents in some downtown areas, pending Salem City Council approval.

This year's restrictions are in effect Mondays through Fridays from 5 p.m. to 7 a.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 7 p.m.

Parking restrictions on Halloween itself can be found here.

One permit is allowed per registered vehicle on designated streets. Permits will be mailed. But those who did not receive one can get one from the parking office on New Liberty Street.

Those seeking a permit in person should bring proof of residence and vehicle registration. Salem State students will also need an official stamped letter from the registrar's office and a lease showing a qualifying residents signed by both the student and the landlord.
