Salem Lifting Snow Emergency Tuesday Afternoon

SALEM, MA — Salem will lift its snow emergency at 1 p.m. Tuesday. City Hall and other municipal offices were shceduled to open for business at 12:30 p.m. Residents who want to report post-storm snow and sidewalk issues should email snow@salem.com.

Salem used 95 trucks for snow removal for Monday night's storm, and crews also responded to a water main break at the intersection of Leavitt and Perkins Streets Tuesday morning. There were no issues with the city's new snow emergency parking rules, which prohibit parking in most school parking lots.

Salem Public Schools postponed superintendent search forums that had been scheduled for Tuesday night. The student forum is now Monday: Dec. 9 at 6:00 p.m. at Salem High School. The parent/community forum is now scheduled for Monday, Dec. 9 at 6:00 p.m. at Saltonstall Elementary School.
