Local Woman Charged With Assaulting Salem Police Officers

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log:
Thursday, June 5:
- At 4:45 p.m., police responded to past malicious destruction of a motor vehicle on Pingree Street.
- At 5:04 p.m., police extinguished a small fire on Grove Street.
- At 5:52 p.m., police responded to a report of an undesirable on Federal Street. Cassie A. Dorrance, 24, of 193 Federal St., Salem, was arrested on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (shoes), domestic assault and battery, resisting arrest and two counts of assault and battery on a police officer.
- At 6:20 p.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Valley Street.
- At 6:31 p.m., police made an arrest on Derby Street. Kymber D. Thomas, 46, of 82 Derby St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of illegally possessing a class B substance.
- At 7:04 p.m., police attempted to serve a warrant on Broadway. Jason E. Brown, 31, of 99 Broadway, Salem, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
- At 7:58 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Mason Street.
- At 9:51 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Wisteria Street. A man was placed into protective custody.
- At 10:09 p.m., police responded to an assault on Highland Avenue.
- At 10:48 p.m., police responded to a noise complaint on Green Street.
- At 11:24 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Washington Street.
- At 12:01 a.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Prince Street. A woman was placed into protective custody.
- At 1:18 a.m., police stopped a motor vehicle on Bridge Street. Donna W. Suggs, 48, of 26 Home St., Beverly, was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
- At 2:24 a.m., police responded to a report of a group of kids trying car doors on Horton Street.
- At 2:40 a.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Aborn Street.
- At 2:53 a.m., police responded to an alarm on Highland Avenue.
- At 4:19 a.m., police responded to a trash picking complaint on Dow Street.
- At 5:26 a.m., police conducted a well-being check on Washington Square South.
- At 7:24 a.m., police made an arrest near the intersection of Boston and Bridge streets. Waldecy F. Sobrinho, 43, of 32 Copper St., Lynn, was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, subsequent offense.
- At 10:06 a.m., police conducted a well-being check on Dearborn Street.
- At 10:42 a.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Bridge Street.
- At 11:47 a.m., police responded to a report of past larceny to a motor vehicle on Pioneer Terrace.
- At 12:22 p.m., an officer disposed of a hypodermic needle discovered on Ward Street.
- At 1:08 p.m., police responded to a report of downed wires on Bridge Street.
- At 3:15 p.m., police responded to a minor motor vehicle accident involving a Salem Fire Department apparatus on Union Street.
- At 3:37 p.m., police made an arrest on Jackson Street. Justin F. Day, 31, of 10 Carnes St., Lynn, was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
- At 3:39 p.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Highland Avenue.
- At 4:17 p.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident near the intersection of Essex and Washington streets.
- At 4:24 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Watson Street.
