Salem Police Nab Alleged Vehicle Burglar

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log:
 

Tuesday, May 13: 

• At 4:16 p.m., police responded to a fight in the street on Hancock Street.
• At 5:02 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Washington Street.
• At 5:05 p.m., police responded to a dispute on Weatherly Drive.
• At 5:31 p.m., police responded to an alarm on Commercial Street.
• At 5:34 p.m., police stopped a motor vehicle on Highland Avenue. Lionel N. Dubuisson, 39, of 205 Highland Ave., Salem, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
• At 5:50 p.m., police responded to a reported car fire near the intersection of Lafayette Street and Forest Avenue.
• At 6:12 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Harbor Street. Lakaishla L. Hunt, 17, of 41 Harbor St., Salem, was arrested on charges of domestic assault and battery and malicious destruction of property valued above $250.
• At 7:51 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Fowler Street.
• At 7:52 p.m., police responded to a trespassing complaint on Lafayette Street.
• At 8:04 p.m., police responded to a past dog attack on School Street.
• At 8:15 p.m., police responded to a hit-and-run motor vehicle accident on Jefferson Avenue.
• At 8:41 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Park Street.
• At 9:23 p.m., police made an arrest on Salem Street. Jamie X. Pena, 20, of 107 Townsend St., Dorchester, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
• At 9:28 p.m., police responded to a report of a past attempted break-in on Pope Street.
• At 10:47 p.m., a security guard at Salem Hospital called police to report that he was chasing a man who was attempting to break into a car parked behind 55 Highland Ave. A person was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, malicious destruction of property valued above $250, breaking and entering during the nighttime to commit a felony (larceny), possessing burglarious tools and larceny over $250.

Wednesday, May 14: 

• At 8:29 a.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident on North Street.
• At 8:31 a.m., a woman called police to report that her bike's tires were stolen on Bridge Street.
• At 9:33 a.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Rawlins Street.
• At 11:34 a.m., police responded to a report of a person passed out in a motor vehicle near the intersection of Warren and Flint streets. Rachel L. Schroeder, 59, of 7 Messervy St., Salem, was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and disorderly conduct.
• At 12:17 p.m., a resident entered the police station to report a past vehicle break-in on Traders Way.
• At 1:32 p.m., police made an arrest on Margin Street. Craig Mullen, 42, of 56 Margin St., Salem, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
• At 2:28 p.m., police responded to a dispute on Lafayette Street.
• At 2:59 p.m., police responded to a past hit-and-run motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Tremont and Grove streets.
• At 3:40 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Highland Avenue. A man was placed into protective custody.
• At 3:47 p.m., police responded to a hit-and-run motor vehicle accident on Loring Avenue.
