Salem Police Respond to Chicken Complaints on Wisteria Street

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log: 


Wednesday, April 30:

• At 5:03 p.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Northend Avenue. Brian P. Jamieson, 58, of 56 River St., Beverly, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
• At 5:34 p.m., police responded to a past vehicle break-in on Butler Street.
• At 6:03 p.m., police responded to a past vehicle break-in on Butler Street.
• At 7:29 p.m., police responded to a shoplifting incident at the Walmart on Highland Avenue.
• At 8:30 p.m., police responded to a noise complaint on Chandler Street.
• At 8:33 p.m., an officer disposed of a hypodermic needle discovered on Lafayette Street.

Thursday, May 1: 

• At 1:28 a.m., police responded to a noise complaint on Lafayette Street.
• At 8:42 a.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident involving a cyclist at the intersection of Canal and Rose streets. A citation was issued to the driver for failure to use care in an intersection.
• At 9:00 a.m., police responded to an alarm on Federal Street.
• At 9:56 a.m., police responded to a report of a possibly sick raccoon on Clark Street.
• At 10:39 a.m., police responded to a report of past threats on Congress Street.
• At 11:31 a.m., police conducted a well-being check on Palmer Street. 
• At 12:03 p.m., a resident called police to report that two phones were stolen from a locker at the YMCA on Leggs Hill Road.
• At 12:56 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Margin Street.
• At 1:34 p.m., police made an arrest on Congress Street. Jaime L. Stavros, 31, of 50 Warren St., Peabody, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
• At 1:51 p.m., police responded to a report of vandalism to a motor vehicle on Highland Avenue.
• At 2:44 p.m., police responded to several complaints reporting chickens running loose on Wisteria Street. An officer spoke to the owner, who agreed to keep a closer eye on her chickens.
• At 3:15 p.m., police responded to a report of a stolen package on Chestnut Street.
• At 3:15 p.m., police responded to a complaint regarding people drinking in the woods off of Intervale Road at night.
