Salem Police Nab Alleged Repeat Drunk Driver
The following information was submitted by the Salem Police Department. Arrests or charges do not indicate a conviction.

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log:
Friday, June 20:
- At 3:40 p.m., police responded to a shoplifting incident on Loring Avenue.
- At 4:05 p.m., police responded to a past hit-and-run motor vehicle accident on Bridge Street. Bonnie H. Smith, 52, of 21 Andrews St., Salem, was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, second offense and leaving the scene of an accident with property damage.
- At 4:12 p.m., police made an arrest on Lafayette Street. Alycia E. Hagen, 31, of 135 Lafayette St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of abandonment of a child under 10.
- At 4:52 p.m., police responded to a past larceny on Lynde Street.
- At 6:17 p.m., police made an arrest on Palmer Street.
- At 7:23 p.m., police responded to a past larceny on Balcomb Street.
- At 10:02 p.m., police responded to a past larceny on Willson Street.
- At 10:31 p.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Essex Street.

- At 3:17 a.m., police responded to a noise complaint on Derby Street.
- At 5:20 a.m., police conducted a well-being check on Bridge Street.
- At 7:35 a.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity near the intersection of Bridge and North streets.
- At 8:06 a.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Highland Avenue.
- At 11:42 a.m., an officer disposed of a hypodermic needle on Essex Street.
- At 2:33 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Courageous Court.
- At 3:17 p.m., police responded to a past vehicle break-in on Ward Street.
- At 4:46 pm., police responded to a past vehicle break-in on Congress Street.
- At 4:48 p.m., police responded to a past shoplifting incident at the Target on Highland Avenue. [Name Withheld], 19, of Marblehead, was arrested on charges of larceny over $250, shoplifting merchandise by concealment and possessing burglarious tools.
- At 4:57 p.m., police responded to a fight inside of the Hawthorne Hotel.
- At 7:05 p.m., police responded to a hit-and-run motor vehicle accident involving a cyclist near the intersection of Bridge and Beacon streets.
- At 8:15 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Porter Street. Mark E. Reed, 45, of 18 Porter St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of assault and battery.
- At 9:20 p.m., police responded to a report of a drunk man in the bushes on Bridge Street. Darryl E. Long, 51, of the streets of Beverly, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
- At 9:27 p.m., police responded to a fireworks complaint near the intersection of Boston and May streets.
- At 10:20 p.m., police responded to a fireworks complaint on Fowler Street.
- At 10:41 p.m., police responded to a noise complaint on School Street.
- At 10:50 p.m., police responded to a fireworks complaint on Salem Street.
Sunday, June 22:
- At 12:47 a.m., police responded to a past vehicle break-in on Peabody Street.
- At 2:13 a.m., police responded to a medical overdose on Lafayette Street.
- At 7:23 a.m., police responded to a report of wires down on Carriage Hill Lane.
- At 10:20 a.m., an officer disposed of a hypodermic needle on Lafayette Street.
- At 12:18 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Cedar Street.
- At 3:22 p.m., an officer disposed of a hypodermic needle on Winter Island Road.
- At 3:37 p.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity on May Street.
Other Arrests
Tomas Hernandez, 33, of 1 Howland St., Dorchester, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct.
Robert J. Lamothe, 25, of 7 Garden Terrace, Salem, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
