Salem Police Receives Donation of Trouble the Dog Plush Toys

Salem Police Department received a donation of "Trouble the Dog" plush toys for first responders to give as a source of comfort to children.

On December 4, 2020, the Salem Police Department received a donation of "Trouble the Dog" plush toys for first responders to give as a source of comfort to children in the event of an accident, fire, domestic situation, or other emergency.

Deliveries of the plush toys to local police departments were made possible by Dr. Freedman, owner of Marblehead Opticians, who has been the lead sponsor of The Kennek Foundation’s annual Trouble the Dog Motorcycle Ride for several years. The Motorcycle Ride had to take place virtually this year due to the pandemic.

The plush Trouble dogs and children’s books were presented to Salem Police Lt. Bob Lubas by Sheila Duncan, Founder of The Kennek Foundation. Lt. Lubas and his well-trained K-9, Axle have supported the annual Motorcycle Ride for years, providing an exhibition of the impressive skills of the Salem Police K-9 Unit.
