Salem State Vaccination Clinic Adjusts To After School Hours

The site will run from 3 to 6 p.m. next Tuesday and Thursday to be more convenient for adults and students getting coronavirus shots.

SALEM, MA —In an effort to be more convenient for residents and students 12 years old or older looking for a coronavirus vaccination, the Salem State University regional collaborative at the O'Keefe Center is changing its hours next week.

The North Shore Regional Vaccination Clinic on Canal Street will hold "after school" hours next week from 3 to 6 p.m. on both Tuesday and Thursday. Appointments are not required, and walk-ins will be accepted, but residents who do want an appointment can sign up here.

The clinic will have the Pfizer vaccine that is approved for those 12 years old and older. Anyone under 18 years old seeking a vaccine must have a parental consent form. Those 12 to 15 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Masks must be worn over the mouth and nose at the clinic at all times and a shirt or tank top with upper-arm access should be worn.

Those attending are asked to pre-screen themselves for coronavirus-like symptoms and not show up if not feeling well because sick individuals cannot receive the vaccine.

Those getting vaccinations are advised they should expect to stay for 15 to 30 minutes following the shot to monitor for any side effects or allergic reactions.
