Salem Students Honored At Maryland, Southern New Hampshire

These Salem students were among those recently earning academic or athletic distinction.

SALEM, MA — Solly Mo, of Salem, earned a master of business administration from University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC).

The university held a virtual stateside commencement on May 15 for more than 5,500 graduates of the Class of 2021. Worldwide, more than 13,000 students from all 50 states and the District of Columbia, as well as 32 countries and territories, earned UMGC degrees during the 2020-21 academic year. UMGC also conducts graduation ceremonies in Europe and Asia for military service members and their families serving overseas.

Natasha Hicks, of Salem, has been named to Southern New Hampshire University's winter 2021 Dean's List. The winter term runs from January to May.

Full-time students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.500 to 3.699 are named to the Dean's List.

Pingree School announced Maeve Gaddipati, of Salem, has been placed on the honor roll for the second trimester of the 2020-2021 academic year.

Honor roll is calculated at the end of each trimester on the basis of the grades earned during that trimester only. Students in the top 10 percent of each class earn high honors; students in the second 10% of each class earn honors.

Rocco Cassetta, of Salem, has been inducted into the Robert J. Fulton, SJ Chapter of the National Honor Society at Boston College High School:

At BC High, NHS members are committed to service in the school and in the broader community. All students applying for membership must be current with the completion of required community services hours for their grade level at BC High. After induction into NHS, all members are expected to offer significant service to the school community as tutors in the Academic Resource Center, as ambassadors at Open House and Admissions events, and in other capacities.

A minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5 is required of all applicants. Beyond the grade point average, applicants must be a positive presence in their academic classes. They must show initiative and dependability, work well with other students, exhibit a strong work ethic, and demonstrate openness to growth.
