SALEM, MA — Salem seasonal parking stickers go on sale this week with some changes in store for the purchase process for 2021.

This year's stickers will allow entrance to Forest River, the McCabe Park/Kernwood Marina, Winter Island and designated areas of Salem Willows, including the parking area across from Dead Horse Beach and the future paved parking area adjacent to the tennis courts expected to be completed in July.

Those purchasing a sticker are reminded it does not guarantee a parking spot during busy days.

The sticker program is open to both residents and non-residents. Residents can buy stickers for $25, while non-residents can buy one for $150. Stickers are non-transferable and replacement stickers will not be issued.

Those purchasing stickers must prevent a valid driver's license and stickers must be affixed to the front windshield on the driver's side at the bottom left of the windshield.

This year's stickers will be available through three purchasing options.

Drive-thru sales will occur at Winter Island from 3 to 6 p.m. May 12, May 17 and May 20. Those buying them through the drive-thru method must have a facemask on while interacting with staff, must stay in your car, must prevent a valid driver's license and cash or check payable to the City of Salem.

Stickers can be bought in person at the Winter Island office and the Community Life Center from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., as well as the Collector's Office at City Hall, during regular business hours beginning May 24. A valid driver's license, vehicle registration and cash, check or credit card is required.

Salem residents can also purchase stickers online here beginning May 24. Once you buy your online sticker, residents must then email a copy of their driver's license and registration to kmccarthy@salem.com to verify residency. Residents will receive email confirmation of the purchase and the stickers will be available for pickup on Winter Island from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. three days after the confirmation email.
