Salem Trick-Or-Treat Advisory Issued To Residents
Salem police are asking those driving through the city Saturday night to be vigilant in looking for trick-or-treaters.
SALEM, MA — Salem police are urging drivers to be vigilant, and trick-or-treaters who are participating in the tradition this year to wear reflectors and other bright-colored costumes, Saturday night.
Stating that trick-or-treating in the city is a "family" decision and not a city decision, the designated times for trick-or-treating in Salem this year is 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Police also asked for pedestrian and vehicle safety this year at the time time health officials are issuing guidelines to protect against the coronavirus.

"We also ask that everyone driving in Salem to recognize the increase of children walking around your neighborhoods," police said. "Children and parents should also be mindful and careful, paying attention to stay on sidewalks, use traffic signals and crosswalks, and being as 'reflective' or visible as possible.
"This takes an entire community to work together to provide safe paths for our trick-or-treaters."
