Salem Water Main Break On Washington Street

SALEM, MA — Crews Friday morning were working to restore water in the area of Washington Street near Pond Street after a morning water main break.

The Salem Department of Public Works said water was off at mid-morning between Canal and Harbor streets. Those in the are may experience low water pressure or brown water.

Those who have brown water are asked to run cold water until clear and not turn on hot water.

Salem DPW said restoration work was expected to continue into Friday afternoon.
