Snow Forecast Cancels Salem Drive-Thru Coronavirus Testing

Forecasts of heavy rain in the morning and snow in the afternoon has forced the cancellation of the Salem High test site on Saturday.

SALEM, MA — Salem is suspending its "Stop the Spread" coronavirus testing at the high school on Saturday due to the poor weather forecast.

The North Shore is expected to see up to 2 to 4 inches of snow. When testing supplies get wet they are at an increased chance of providing a false positive or false negative.

The next available free testing in Salem will be Monday at Old Town Hall, Salem High and by appointment for residents only at the Jean Levesque Community Life Center on Bridge Street.

The Bridge Street location is walk-up site that requires an appointment.

To book an appointment time block, click here. Appointments can currently only be booked for
the first week of testing. Future booking times will be opened in the coming days.

You may only book one appointment at a time. If there is more than one person in your family or household group, each person must book an individual appointment.

Time blocks are available in increments of 30 minutes and you may come to the site at any point in your scheduled 30-minute window.

Residents must bring a copy of your appointment confirmation and proof of residency to their appointment.

Arrive no earlier than 30 minutes before appointment time and enter through the side of teh Community Life Center. Those arriving must wear a mask at all times and should anticipate a wait even with an appointment.
