Squirrel Intruder: Salem Police Log

Officers escorted a large squirrel out of a home, people celebrated recent nuptials, and more from the Salem Police log.

  • Police responded to a report of fireworks last Monday around 11:30 p.m. on North Street.
  • Jeffrey A. Baker, 29, of Beverly, was arrested on charges of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct last Wednesday.
  • Officers responded to a report of a possibly drunk person on Norman Street on Wednesday around 3 a.m. Police found the man was looking for a ride home, and helped him get a taxi.
  • Curtis L. Mclean, 60, of Salem, was arrested on charges of possession to distribute a class B drug and a warrant last Tuesday.
  • Sarah Jessica Palazola, 23, of Danvers, was arrested on charges of possession of a class E drug and a municipal ordinance violation last Monday around 9 p.m. after police responded to a report of a fight on Collins Street.
  • Sean William Johnson, 32, of Revere, was arrested on charges of speeding in violation of a special regulation, driving with a suspended license, and a warrant arrest after a traffic stop in the area of Highland Avenue last Thursday around 9:30 a.m.
  • Ivo Anu Tafua, 39, of Salem, was arrested on charges of assault and battery on a household member last Thursday.
  • Police responded to a Winthrop Street home on a report of an animal inside a bedroom last Friday around 8 p.m. Officers found a large gray squirrel in the room, and helped it get into a tree outside the window.
  • Brett M. Gamache-Snow, 30, of Salem, was arrested on charges of malicious destruction of property and larceny over $250 last Friday around 9 p.m. after a report of a disturbance in the area of Derby Street.
  • Officers responded to a report of an injured dog on Sylan Street last Saturday around 9 p.m. A small pit bull was found with a "very minor injury," but there was no information on the car that hit the dog.
  • Martial Ludwig Bellegarde, 38, of Salem, was arrested on charges of assault with a dangerous weapon last Saturday around 10:30 p.m. after a report of a fight on Aborn Street Court.
  • Francis D. Bennett, 28, of Salem, was arrested on charges of malicious destruction of property on Sunday.
  • Michael J. Collins, 40, of Salem, was arrested on charges of accosting a person on Monday around 11:35 a.m after a report of an unwanted guest in the area of New Derby Street.
  • Antonio Torres, 25, of Salem, was arrested on charges of violating a municipal ordinance and resisting arrest last Saturday.
  • Police responded to a report of a group of people bragging about stealing underwear on Monday around 4 p.m. on Derby Street. Officers found they were celebrating a recent marriage.
  • Adriana Rodriguez, 39, of Salem, was arrested on charges of a bomb or hijack threat with public alarm on Wednesday around 9 a.m. after a report of a bomb threat at Salem District Court.
  • John Alfred Deveau, 37, of Peabody, was arrested on charges of larceny over $250 on Thursday around 2:30 p.m. after police responded to a report of shoplifting on Traders Way.
  • Jessica Vargas, 32, of Lynn, was arrested on charges of larceny over $250 by single scheme on Wednesday around 8:30 p.m. after police responded to a Traders Way business on a report of an employee stealing cash from the registers.
