One of the things I noticed since moving here from the Metro-west suburbs is that Salem is not for passive drivers. You either go when prompted or you are dead to the driver that thought about letting you go. Most people won't look at you and not let you go at all. Coming off side streets to a major street requires a permission slip that you just simply cannot write. Going for it is like a game of Frogger.
People need to get places sure, but why is courtesy thrown out the window? Everyone seems miserable in Salem traffic, have you ever looked around and saw a happy face in Salem traffic? Me neither. The only folks happy in traffic seem to be ones vaping a cloud of god knows what, and believe me they are not in a hurry to get anywhere.
We can do better Salem. Take extra time when traveling in Salem this tourist season. Be an ambassador on the streets. Make someone's day, yield right of way.

Yes the tourists are coming, and while it's funny to send that New York family of 4 to Lynn and not Salem Willows, be better than that.
Can't we all just merge along?
