Tavern In The Square Reopening Salem Location Under New Name
The Derby Restaurant is scheduled to open in March with a revamped menu and a more local focus.
SALEM, MA -- Tavern In The Square, which closed its Salem location in early November, plans to reopen in March with a new name and menu for the restaurant. The new restaurant will be called the Derby Restaurant. The Salem Licensing Board is scheduled to take up a liquor license transfer request when it meets Jan. 14.
According to the Salem News, which first reported this story, restaurant president Giuseppe "Joey" Arcari said the plan is to focus on "the local side of things....I think we got away with that with the Tavern. It’s going to have a local feel."
