Area's Overnight Chill Could Be Repeated

The late night/early morning temperature is expected to drop to the high 30s.

We are deep into spring, but you can't expect every day and night to be beautiful and warm. This is New England. The local overnight temperature dropped to the 30s, and Seekonk/Swansea as well as other towns and cities in the area are under a frost advisory until 8 a.m.

The unfavorable weather is expected to return when the sun goes down, with the National Weather Service calling for a nighttime/early morning low of 40. Another frost advisory is possible.

The daytime weather should be more reasonable, with the NWS predicting sunny skies and a high of 61. Here is look ahead at the forecast for the next few days:

Wednesday daytime: Increasing clouds with a high near 68 and a light southwest wind becoming south traveling 13 mph to 18 mph (gusts up to 28 mph) in the morning. There is a 30 percent chance of rain, mainly after 2 p.m.

Wednesday night: Mostly cloudy with a low around 53 and a south wind traveling 6 mph to 14 mph (gusts up to 38 mph) becoming light after midnight. There is a 60 percent chance of rain, mainly between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m.

Thursday daytime: Mostly sunny with a high near 77

Thursday nighttime: Mostly clear with a low around 51

Friday daytime: Sunny with a high near 74

Friday night: Mostly clear with a low around 50.
