Buckley Goes on Campaign Offensive
The selectmen candidate questions opponent Mike Brady's character.

While Seekonk Board of Selectmen candidates Mike Brady and Francis Cavaco have exchanged verbal jabs during this campaign, candidate Paul Buckley has chosen to stay out of the fight. But with Election Day nearing, he has decided to go on the offensive, issuing a press release attacking Brady.
In a Thursday press release titled "Buckley Questions Brady Character," Buckley wrote Brady's statement in an interview with The Sun Chronicle stating "I'm not friends with anybody on the board [of selectmen] now" conflicts with reality because his financial report shows Selectman Dave Parker and former Selectman Bill Rice fronted a total of $814 for his campaign that was later reimbursed.
"Either Mr. Brady is selling his interest to current board member Mr. Parker or Mr. Parker is buying a friendship?"Â Buckley wrote. "I am not sure how Mr. Brady can say he does not have any friends on the current board when he is receiving financial support from one of them. This reflects on the character of Mr. Brady that I have been speaking about these last few weeks. He says one thing but in reality it is just plain not true."

Brady wrote "no thank you" in an email to Seekonk Patch when asked if he would like to respond to the accusation. Parker did not respond to an email from Patch. Rice wrote, "Mr. Buckley must be nervous about his prospects."
Election Day is Monday at Seekonk High School. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
