Fatal I-495 Crash on Thanksgiving: Deceased Identified
James Keating, 22, of Norton, was killed in a crash on Interstate 495 Thursday.
PLAINVILLE, MA — Authorities on Friday identified the man killed in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 495 on Thanksgiving that also seriously injured a Barnstable woman.
Police said the wrong-way driver, James Keating, 22, of Norton, crashed head-on into the 21-year-old Barnstable woman on the southbound side of the highway near Exit 13 Thursday at about 2 a.m. Keating had been traveling northbound in the southbound side of the highway in the moments leading up to the crash, police said.
The Barnstable woman was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries, police said. Her identity was not released.
