Former Seekonk Fire Chief Elected To Board Of Selectmen

Michael Healy won the seat with 645 votes at Monday's annual town election.

SEEKONK, MA — The Town of Seekonk has elected former fire chief Michael Healy as the newest selectman, reported The Sun Chronicle.

Five candidates ran for two open three-year board of selectmen seats at Monday's annual town election. Vice Chairperson Christopher Zorra was re-elected with 517 votes and Healy was newly elected for the second seat with 645 votes.

The other candidates included, incumbent David Viera with 368 votes, Nelson Almeida with 353 votes, and Doug Brown with 357 votes.

A total of 10.9 percent of the town's registered voters participated in the election.
