Gas Prices Continue to Fall; Find the Cheapest in Swansea-Seekonk

The average in Massachusetts is down to $2.11 but you can find cheaper in Seekonk and Swansea.

Gasoline prices in Massachusetts continue to drop, actually falling below the $2 mark in some spots around the commonwealth.

Prices are down three cents from last week, according to AAA Northeast, whose Oct. 13 survey of prices in Massachusetts found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.11 per gallon, down three cents from last week.

Prices locally are 12 cents less than a month ago, and 20 cents less than the national average for self-serve unleaded of $2.31. A year ago at this time the Massachusetts average price was $1.15 higher at $3.26.

The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 46 cents, from a low of $1.99 to a high of $2.45.

In Seekonk, the cheapest gas is $1.97, according to gasbuddy.com, and can be found at BJ’s at 175 Highland Ave. near Progress St. In Swansea, the cheapest gas is $2.09 at the Sunoco at 374 Wilbur Ave. and Bristol Ave.
