Stoughton Murder Suspect Charged with Killing Ex-Wife

The man arrested for killing his estranged wife in her Stoughton home was arraigned in Stoughton District Court Monday afternoon and charged with murder.

Willie Foster, 47, of Dorchester was taken into custody by Boston police officers Monday morning in Mattapan. He is accused of killing Anita Clark, 46, who was found dead May 4 at her 76 Glen Echo Blvd. home in Stoughton.

Foster, who appeared in court wearing a Boston Red Sox pullover, pleaded not guilty to the murder charge.

Norfolk County Assistant District Attorney Lynn Beland said the autopsy shows Clark died after suffering more than 20 stab wounds.

Concession Stand Named for Local Volunteer

An advocate for Seekonk youth will be memorialized at Seekonk High School with a concession stand bearing his name. The school committee voted unanimously Monday night to name the school's concession stand after Robert McKenna III, who died in December.

Superintendent Arlene Bosco said it was a fitting tribute because McKenna was the person who "made that concession stand run as well as it does" by making donations, providing materials and recruiting volunteers.

"He was so active in the district for such a long time; it is so meaningful," Bosco said.

Contract Finalized for Attleboro Schools Chief

The Attleboro school district's incoming superintendent and the school committee recently reached an agreement on a three-year contract. Kenneth Sheehan will make $175,000 per year, Committee Chair Mike Tyler announced Thursday night in a press release. The contract includes renewal options for fourth and fifth years, Tyler wrote.

Wheaton Alumni Party Raises Noise Concerns

The Norton Board of Selectmen approved two one-day alcohol permits for a May 17 function at Wheaton College, but with some contention.

Selectman Robert Kimball raised his concern about an ongoing issue with the noise level at certain parties.

"We don't care that you go out and have a good time, as long as [the students] don't scream," he said.
